Krispy Kreme
in Russia

12th of September 2013 famous restaurateur Arkadiy Novikov opened Krispy Kreme chain in Moscow. He said that when he had tried Krispy Kreme doughnuts for the first time in London he admired their incredible taste and decided to bring this wildly-loved brand in Russia.

Since that time Krispy Kreme Russia is increasingly developing and for now has 25 stores. What’s next? Our opportunities have no borders!

Krispy Kreme history began in 1930s. According to the legend young man Vernon Rudolf, whose destiny was to become the King of Krispy Kreme, won a secret yeast-raised doughnut recipe from a New Orleans French chef. It is just a legend but it is magnificent!

in the Wall

13th of July 1937 Vernon rented a building in what is now historic Old Salem in Winston-Salem, NC, and began selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts to local grocery stores.

The delicious scent of freshly made doughnuts drifted into the streets, and passers-by stopped to ask if they could buy hot doughnuts. So, Vernon cut a hole in an outside wall and started selling hot Original Glazed doughnuts directly to customers on the sidewalk.

1940 — 1950

Hand production was a thing of the past when automation took over. The planning and timing of production became a vital task. So Vernon and his team of engineers created new equipment – the production line which modifications you can find in our stores nowadays. These lines let us maintain ideal shapes of every doughnut every day.

1960 — 1990

Classic stores format with green color and brand logo has first appeared in 1960s. In 1976 Vernon Rudoplf died but his creation, Krispy Kreme company, lives and prospers and in 2017 celebrates its 80 anniversary. The brand has also gained American Icon title and its attributes are now stored in National Museum of American History.

Today as well as 80 years ago our doughnuts are hand-crafted. We keep making magic moments, touching and enhancing lives through the joy that is Krispy Kreme.
